Heat exchangers
A heat exchanger is a piece of equipment in which heat is continuously transferred from one medium to another, and where uninsulated surfaces heat both the medium to be heated and the environment. Such heat loss can be reduced by insulation. Blanket insulation is the optimal solution in this case from a technological point of view, owing to maintenance requirements. Both pipe bundle and plate heat exchangers can be insulated with DynoFlex insulation blankets. In addition to reducing the environmental heat load, they also increase heat exchanger’s efficiency.

Frequently asked questions
When insulating heat exchangers, we cover as much of their possible surface area as possible with our insulation products, with a view to easy, quick and logical removal and reinstallation. For plate heat exchangers the shanks with threads for anchoring are left uncovered.
The thickness of the plate heat exchanger depends on the number of plates—it is not of a standard size. The desired heat exchange performance can be adjusted by varying the number of plates to optimise it for the given application. Moreover, in the event of a leakage, conventional insulation solutions are destroyed, making their use uneconomical. In the case of DynoFlex insulation, the coating material is selected in agreement with the customer, so that in the event of a leak, the insulation can be cleaned before reinstallation.
The use of Velcro enables the removal of insulation from a heat exchanger in a matter of minutes, depending on size.
