Thermal oil systems

Technologies of higher heat intensity use thermal oil as heat transfer medium, with oil temperatures typically exceeding 200 °C, resulting in extremely high heat losses through uninsulated surfaces. Due to the extremely high temperatures and increased risk of fire in such technologies, it is crucial that energy efficiency measures are implemented by an experienced team of specialists. Typical surfaces: boiler surfaces, fittings, welded fittings’ stuffing boxes, centrifugal pumps.

Frequently asked questions

How to detect possible leaks from insulations?

Our insulations may, at request, be provided manufactured with cut-outs (d=10mm), secured with metal rings near potential leakage points. Any leakage will immediately start to smoke when it reaches the hot surface, which will be immediately detectable thanks to the cut-out.

Can oil seep into the insulation?

On thermal oil systems we use a structure complete with a Teflon impregnated coating on both sides, rendering it completely waterproof.

Is there a leak drainage solution?

The DynoGuard® blow-out protection solution protects personnel and equipment around the flange from dangerous media escaping from the system in the event of a joint failure. The blow-out protection element is designed to protect the seal in case of a fire, while diverting the spillage to a safe containment.
