Insulation of pumps
Various types of pumps can be used for circulating media. Where it is crucial that the temperature of the flowing media remains constant, pumps should be insulated. Owing to their complicated geometry and their maintenance requirements, we recommend that heating circulator pumps, feed pumps as well as centrifugal pumps be insulated with DynoFlex reusable insulation blankets.

Frequently asked questions
The way DynoFlex insulations are anchored depends on medium and temperature, but in most cases Velcro fasteners and aramid cords are used on pumps as well.
The number of elements required for insulating a pump depends on the latter’s type and size. A feeder pump can, for instance, be insulated with a single insulation blanket, while the insulation of a pump of a more complex geometry and anchoring may require up to 2-3-4 elements.
The insulation of a pump usually covers the pump body and the connection flanges, leaving the motor and the bearing house—the parts where too much extra heat may quickly result in damage—exposed.
